  • Crafton takes pole for Texas truck race

Fort Worth, TX (Sports Network) - Matt Crafton topped the qualifying charts on Thursday to take the pole for the WinStar World Casino 350 Camping World Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Crafton rounded the 1.5-mile track at 179.354 m.p.h. (30.108 seconds) in his No.88 Chevrolet for his second pole of the season and the third of his Truck Series career.

Todd Bodine will start on the outside pole after turning a lap at 178.235 m.p.h.

Bodine has the most victories at Texas with five, including one in June.

Chad McCumbee qualified third, followed by points leader Ron Hornaday, Jr. and David Gilliland. Hornaday holds a 202-point advantage over Crafton with three races to go.

Johnny Sauter, Aric Almirola, Rick Crawford, Ricky Carmichael and James Buescher completed the top-10.

Kyle Busch, a six-time winner in the series this year, qualified 12th. Busch won last Saturday at Talladega.

Lance Hooper, Andy Postein and John Jackson failed to qualify.

Friday's truck race is scheduled to begin around 9:00 p.m. (et).
