• Streelman wins $1 million Kodak Challenge

  
  

  Lake Buena Vista, FL (Sports Network) - Kevin Streelman captured $1 million as the winner of the season-long Kodak Challenge, clinching the prize during Friday's second round of the Children's Miracle Network Classic.

  Streelman made a three-foot birdie putt on the par-four 17th hole at Disney's Magnolia Course, building a three-shot lead that will be impossible to catch over the weekend.

  The $1 million check is more than Streelman, a second-year player, has made in official PGA Tour prize money so far this season. He earned better than $1.35 million last year.

  "It's been weighing on me and it's fun to finish it off like that," said Streelman.

  The Kodak Challenge was contested over 24 selected holes throughout the season -- one hole apiece in 24 different events. To qualify for the winner-take-all prize, a golfer had to play at least 18 of those holes.

  Each player's lowest score relative to par on his best 18 challenge holes was counted towards his total.

  Streelman shot a 71 Friday and was nine shots behind leader Justin Leonard in the final event of the PGA Tour season.
