  • Eagles bring in Jauron to coach DBs

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Eagles have hired former Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron as the team's senior assistant/defensive backs coach.

Jauron, 59, replaces Brian Stewart, who left to become the defensive coordinator for the University of Houston.

Over three-plus seasons as the head coach for Buffalo, Jauron had a record of 24-33.

He was fired this past November after Buffalo stumbled to a 3-6 start.

Jauron has previously worked with Eagles head coach Andy Reid when the two were on Mike Holmgren's staff in the early 1990's in Green Bay.

Jauron was also a head coach with Chicago from 1999-2003, when his Bears teams went 35-46. He was also the interim coach for Detroit in 2005 and went 1-4.
