  • Falcons still without timetable for Turner; Norwood returns

Flowery Branch, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Falcons will most likely be without the services of running back Michael Turner for Sunday's game against the New York Giants, but could see the return of fellow back Jerious Norwood.

Atlanta head coach Mike Smith addressed the health of both on Thursday, telling the team's official website that there is still no timetable for the return of Turner, whose status following a high right ankle sprain has not been officially determined. He did add that Turner had made "strides" since suffering the injury in last weekend's loss to Carolina.

However, the Falcons could get a boost to the backfield with the return of Norwood, who practiced for the first time in over a month Thursday -- albeit in a limited capacity. He's been battling a hip injury and the aftereffects of a concussion suffered earlier in the season.

Wide receiver Roddy White (knee) returned to practice in a limited role Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's session. The same scenario played out for safety Erik Coleman (knee) while wideout Brian Finneran (knee) sat for a second straight day.
