• Roughriders sign DB Alexander to two-year extension

  
  

  Regina, SK (Sports Network) - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed defensive back Donovan Alexander to a two-year contract extension, with an option.

  Financial details of the signing were not released.

  The 24-year-old Alexander started 16 games at cornerback this season, finishing with 35 defensive tackles, three pass knockdowns and two fumble recoveries.

  Selected in the third round of the 2007 CFL Draft by Montreal, Alexander spent time with the NFL's Seattle Seahawks before playing four games for the Alouettes in 2008.

  The Roughriders acquired him earlier this season from Montreal.
