• Steelheads re-sign head coach Ticknor

  
  

  Boise, ID (Sports Network) - The Gary Steelheads Friday re-signed head coach Duane Ticknor for the 2004-05 campaign.

  Ticknor completed his second season with Gary in 2003-04 and ninth overall as a professional head coach. His overall regular-season record with the Steelheads is 52-44.

  "Duane has been invaluable in helping to make this organization successful," said chief operating officer Jewell Harris Jr., Esq. "He is one of the most respected coaches in the CBA, and he has helped make the Steelheads one of the premier franchises in minor league basketball."

  Gary earned its first-ever playoff berth last year under Ticknor's guidance and set a club record for wins in a season (27).
