Rockies ink Belisle, Flores to one-year deals
Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rockies agreed to terms with pitchers Matt Belisle and Randy Flores on one-year contracts for the 2010 season on Thursday.
Belisle worked primarily out of the bullpen in his first year with Colorado last season.
In 24 games, the right-hander went 3-1 with a 5.52 earned run average.
The 29-year-old spent the first five years of his career in Cincinnati and holds a 19-23 career record with a 5.10 ERA in 156 games -- 43 starts.
Flores was also in his first year with the Rockies in 2009 and pitched to a 5.25 ERA in 27 games out of the bullpen. In 292 career games over a seven-year career, Flores has a 4.81 ERA and a 9-5 record for Texas, St.
Louis and Colorado.
The Rockies also announced pitcher Joel Peralta and infielder Omar Quintanilla have been outrighted off the 40-man roster.
Peralta elected to become a free agent after posting a 6.20 ERA in 27 bullpen appearances last season, his fifth in the big leagues. Quintanilla, also a five-year veteran, batted just .172 in 58 at-bats last year for Colorado.
