  • Longhorns baseball coach Garrido suspended indefinitely

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - University of Texas head baseball coach Augie Garrido was reportedly suspended indefinitely after being arrested and charged with suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Garrido was charged on Saturday in Austin.

Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said the suspension is with pay and that "he's devastated and realizes he made a serious mistake." Garrido recently received a five-year contract extension in November and has an overall record of 1,668-777-8 in his 40-year college baseball coaching career.

During his 12 seasons with the Longhorns, Garrido is 517-253-1, with five College World Series appearances and four Big 12 titles since 2000.
